A List Of Preparations To Do Before Your Upcoming Big Day
"The moment you're waiting for is finally arriving, so you start making all the plans but you need some guidance. Will reading this blog help to solve your question?"
This day will only get to happen once in a lifetime, so why not look and feel the best on that day? You know what I am talking about, your wedding day! We all know how important that day is for the both of you, as after 20 years or so you want to refer back to both of your big day and say “Wow, it is a day we will never forget.” and you continue to recap everything from the start until the end again. For that, we want to make sure that you have a good memory to be looking back and not for the bad times.
Here is a list (may not be essential but it’s definitely something you can think about) of what you need to prepare before the day and we’re here to assist you in all of them!
1) Make-up artist
So you’re planning on going your hair and make up for your wedding day. But why? Is it due to not trusting a makeup artist (MUA) to pull off a makeup look that could not match your look? Or are you someone who doesn’t like other people touching your hair? Or is it both? Well, if you stop worry so much, there are many reasons why you need to hire a makeup artist AND hairstylist for your wedding.
First and foremost, you want to be stress-free on your wedding day! It would be best if you asked around, like your friends based on their experience as a bride. A big day calls for a busy and will most likely to include a few unexpected challenges, so it’s best not to let your appearance be one of them. You should not spend your time worrying if your eyeliner is perfect or if your eyelashes may or not stick for the rest of your day.
Usually, a professional makeup artist will meet you before your wedding day to do a trial based on the makeup and hairstyle that you want. From that, your makeup artist will know precisely your wedding theme, your skin type, your desired outcome and any complications during the trial that will not repeat on a real day for a smooth process.
2) Clothing Rental (Wedding Dress)
It’s a fact that wedding dresses aren’t cheap. In general, the price range of renting a wedding dress can be as low as RM 100++ or go up to thousands, as it depends on the material you want your attire to be. So clearly, as much as you want to keep a big fluffy gown in your closet, which you only will be wearing once in your lifetime, it is better to rent. But to give you a few ideas, here are the pros and cons.
PROS:
- You Might Get A Good Deal
If you rent a gown, you may get more bang for your buck. Some wedding dress rental companies provide different packages where you can tack on a veil, shoes, and other accessories for a reduced price. Doesn’t this sound like a great deal?
- Saving up the washing energy
After wearing your perfect white gown all night, the chances are the outfit is going to get a little dirty. But luckily, you do not have to wash by your own (you must be thinking of how long you are going to spend washing it) as the package includes typically doing the remaining cleaning job for you. Even if you plan to clean your gown, do you know that dry cleaning can cost you from RM 65 (information based on Washhouse)? So, consider those savings a significant win.
CONS:
- Limited Options
If you’re someone who wants the design of your wedding dress to be unique (different from the typical wedding dresses you see around), or a picky shopper, renting is not the best choice for you. Not only can style limit down your options, but you may find that specific dresses aren’t available for you to rent on the day that you need it.
- Being Responsible For The Damage
It’s not that everyday things will run smoothly under your roof. So, from walking around the wedding ballroom filled with people, you could get wine spills on your dress; or smudges of lipstick stain when putting on or removing the skirt. Even though insurance covers minor issues, brides are usually responsible for the cost of the dress if there’s any significant damage done to the gown.
3) Massage
So your big day is approaching, and you’ve thought about the dress, flowers, invitations and venue, but something’s missing. What about self-pamper? Even though planning for a wedding is enjoyable as this is what you wanted to do since you were young, but it can be stressful at the same time. So, what you need to do is to sit back and have some relax time to yourself; otherwise, you’ll risk suffering from burning out.
A massage is a fantastic option for reducing stress. Small amounts of stress are reasonable, but when you need to get tons of things done, it can be quite damaging to our health like affecting us in all sorts of ways from tension headaches, skin problems, to even interrupted sleeping patterns.
To that during a massage, your heart rate is lowered, and the “happy hormones” are released. Many assume that massage is a part to “luxury lifestyle”, but it should think as a part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle as it is beneficial in terms of relaxing the muscles, improving the circulation and also detoxifying for better immunity.
